Guide: Installing 64GB DDR5 RAM on ASUS PN64 Mini PC
ASUS Mini PCs have long been a popular choice for both corporations and individuals due to its very mini size, upgrade capability, reliability and support from ASUS directly.
The PN64 is the latest model in the ASUS Mini PC line-up and boasts Intel 12th Gen CPU in either i3, i5 or i7 configurations. It is also able to support DDR5 Ram and Gen 4 SSD. These specs are sure to leave previous generations of Mini PC in the dust, and we predict a fair amount of performance increase vs the older generations of ASUS PN series.
Due to its novelty, there has been some confusion regarding the maximum RAM supported and through some testing, we have sucessfully managed to install 64GB of DDR5 Ram (32GB x 2) into a PN64-B-S7035MD Mini PC, which is the model that is configured with i7 12700H processor. See our short video guide above on how we did it.
Of course, despite its blazing speed, its price tag may not be palatable to everyone, and we generally recommend this model only for those who require major performance in terms of processing speed or those who would like to take advantage of the Intel Iris XE graphics available in the i5 and i7 configurations. For general office, media or study usage, we would still recommend the ASUS PN51 or PN50 as they are more than sufficient for that usage at a much lower price point.
